Reasons DIY Harry Potter Bath Bombs Make a Great Gift
- Who doesn’t want to languish and have a relaxing soak while reading one of the HP books?
- And if you (or your gift recipient) isn’t a fan of baths, no problem. Put this same exact recipe into a flat-back mold (like this dome mold I use) and it becomes a shower fizzy. You get the same great fizziness, fun, and amazing scents that can be put into the shower’s stream safely.
- This is handmade and there is just something about making a gift that screams, “I CARE ABOUT YOU!” We shouldn’t be screaming at those we care about, but I think you get my meaning.
- Finally, they’re fun. What Potterhead wouldn’t love to get these?
Basic Supplies Needed
Each recipe is detailed with various scents that bring out the personality of each house, but you can use the same scent for all of them to make it easier. Some of these items are in your pantry and some you can pick up at the craft store or online.
- baking soda
- citric acid (better price online than at grocery)
- oil (I like to use coconut, but jojoba works well)
- essential oils (recommended scents on each recipe below or choose your own)
- mica powder (absolutely get this on Amazon for the best variety and price)
You’ll also need something to mold them. We have these stainless steel bath bomb molds BUT you can always use those press-together plastic holiday ornaments if you have them on hand. They won’t last forever, but work in a pinch.
