Kid’s Clay Pot Easter Craft Idea
Here at Ruffles and Rain Boots, I really like easy and affordable crafts for kids. We make a fun time of going to the store to scout basic craft supplies to have on hand for quick crafts, holiday or year-round.
Holiday crafts for kids should be quick and easy, in my opinion, and this adorable Easter craft is one that can be done in one or two sittings. This craft is best for elementary children and will require supervision if you want to use a hot glue gun.

Tips for Making Bunny Pots
- Depending on how thick the paint is, you might need two coats on the pot for this Easter activity. If you are setting this up for young children (or those with limited attention spans), it might be helpful to pre-paint the pot (spray paint is my favorite because it’s fast).
- You can use liquid glue (Aleene’s Tacky Glue is great) for this bunny craft but that type of glue does take longer to dry. I like to use a hot glue gun because it makes it a quick process. If you have a dual temperature device, you could choose low temp and supervise usage.
- If you’re setting this up for a craft for a party or play date, it might be best if you or another adult handles the glue gun and the kids bring their creations to you for assembly.
- Change up the color of the ribbon, felt, or paint to whatever you or the kids like fur this bunny craft for kids. If you buy the three pack of clay pots from the Dollar Tree, three little bunnies in pastels would make a cute Easter display.
- If you can find small, white plastic pots for very young children, pick those up. This easy Spring craft idea will work with those, as well.

How to Make and Assemble This Clay Pot Easter Bunny
This little Easter craft for kids is great as table decor and looks great sitting on a grandparent’s mantle or window sill. If you can find small white plastic pots, this would be great as a play date puppet or story prompt because it is much faster when you don’t have to wait on the paint to dry.

Terra Cot Pot Bunny Craft
This cute bunny clay pot craft is perfect for Easter and creative fun! Gather up a terra cotta pot, felt, wiggle eyes, and paint to create this cute Easter decor.
Materials
- 4-inch Terra Cotta Pot (or Plastic)
- Felt in White and Pink
- Markers
- White Acrylic Paint
- Ribbon
- Wiggly Eyes
- Black Twine
- Paper
- Bunny template
Tools
- Scissors
- Paintbrush
- Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks (or Aleene's Tacky Glue)
Instructions
- Paint the flower pot with white paint and let it dry. If it needs a second coat, add one.
- If needed, print out the pattern for the rabbit craft and cut out the various pieces from the template. Trace the ears and a muzzle with a marker onto the white felt. Trace the nose on the pink felt. Cut out everything traced.
- Put the pink inner ear piece onto the middle of the white outer ear felt and glue together (supervised). Glue the pink nose onto the white muzzle.
- Turn the pot upside down (the opening is at the bottom).
- Cut out six (6) 2-inch long pieces of black twine. Glue them to the muzzle area for the whiskers. Affix the muzzle and the eyes onto the flowerpot with glue.
- Add the ribbon to the base of the flower pot, adding glue to hold it in place, if desired. Tie a bow and put it in the center.
- Add the tab of the felt ears in the hole within the terra cotta pot and adjust them as needed.
Notes
- If you can find white plastic pots, that will reduce the time needed for this craft. I recommend this for small children or if setting this up for a party.
- If you want to reduce the time this craft takes, spray paint the terra cotta pots in advance (or hand paint them).
