Instructions

  1. Print the apple template, if using. Decide on the size apple(s) to make - large, medium, and small. Follow the recommendations for each row count. The rows for each are small apple: 2, 3, 2; medium apple: 2, 3, 3, 2; large apple: 3, 4, 5, 4, 3. Groups of wine corks on wood background with hot glue gun.
  2. Glue each cork together to form an individual row. Horizontal image of rows of wine corks.
  3. Glue all rows together following the template. Three sets of wine cork apples on wood background with small glue gun.
  4. If painting, paint each of the cork ends with red paint and let dry. Note: skip this step if leaving the corks natural. Paintbrush and red paint showing the fronts of all wine corks painted red to resemble an apple.
  5. Cut the branch, if using, into 1-2 inch sections to form the apple stem. Glue to the top of each apple. Horizontal image showing a glue gun, snippers and sticks attached to the cork apples on a wood background.
  6. Use scissors to cut out a leaf shape (included in the template) from felt. Pinch the bottom of the leaf together, add glue, and let dry to create a dimensional leaf. Glue to the side of the stem and tie on a ribbon. Three sets of apple leaves cut from green felt with scissors.

Notes

For a more natural look, leave the wine corks unpainted or use a light stain to color the ends instead of paint.

Tie on a gift certificate to the cork apple for a back to school or teacher appreciate gift idea.
