Tips to Make this Clay Pot Apple Jar for Teachers
- Make the apple as big or as small as you want. Choose the clay pot and follow along with the tutorial, no matter the size. I find the three inch terra cotta pots is is probably the smallest you want if you are adding a gift card.
- Some work-ahead/prep ideas if you have very young children are: prime the clay pot so it only takes one coat of red or green paint, precut the leaves from felt or card stock paper, and attach the stem pieces together.
- If you cannot find a wooden finial, use a cork, large thread bobbin, or a thick stick from the yard.
- Filler options include shredded paper, small wrapped candies, Post-It® Notes, or other small school supplies like pink erasers, mini sharpeners, or anything else which can fit.
- Another filler option would be to include notes of appreciation on slips of paper or cards your children write out.
- I used hot glue on this project and recommend it but craft glue can be used, too. Either way, parental guidance is recommended for this craft.
