My recipes are ALL tried and tested and have thousands of 5 star reviews, so you can be assured you won’t be wasting anything. Some popular sugar scrub recipes include:
- lemon sugar scrub cubes recipe – this combines sugar with soap and increases the life and ease of use for sugar scrubs

Basic Sugar Scrub Recipe
When you’re just starting out, make a small batch and you will never have a fail. It will also allow for a TON of different colors, themes, and scents.
For a small batch, I recommend the following 5-minute sugar scrub recipe:
- 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
- 2.5 tablespoons coconut oil (or other oil, solid or liquid)
- 4 drops of soap scent or food flavoring
- 1/8th teaspoon (or less) mica powder (I recommend a mica powder set)
Place all items into a paper bowl and mix / mash with a spoon. Be sure all items are incorporated fully and that the mica powder is mixed in completely.

- Lemon – used lemon extract and lemon rind with a gold mica powder
- Chocolate – used cocoa powder and chocolate extract (no mica powder)
- Strawberry – used strawberry extract and pistachio and pink mica powder
- Tropical – used coconut flavoring and papaya and gold mica powder
Tips for Making, Storing, and Using Homemade Sugar Scrubs
- to create multi-color / multi-flavor in one container, split before adding the mica powder
- do not use food coloring, as it can stain skin, sinks, tubs, and containers)
- I like to make and gift small containers of scrubs so that they can use the entire container in one application
- sugar scrubs can last up to 6 months if stored in an air-tight, unopened container
- upon opening, scrubs should be used within a week (if exposed to water) or within a month (if scooped dry and the container is not exposed to water)
- use one of mine or make your own stickers and gift tags for the scrub containers
UV Printed Sugar Scrub Lids
I have been asked about this so I’m adding this section in here. For this set, I created four labels and put the lids into my xTool O1 UV printer. They came out like they were made in a factory!
If you have an inkjet or color laser printer, you can actually just print these onto sticker paper or print and cut them out like labels to put onto the lids. Download the sugar scrub label art here.
