DIY Gingerbread Sugar Scrub Cubes

Here on Ruffles and Rain Boots, I love to share my all-natural, homemade body scrubs with you. Although we’ve shared some fun sugar scrubs (see below for a few suggestions), this one is perfect for a DIY holiday gift.

All sugar scrubs and body scrubs are not created equal. This solid sugar scrub cube recipe is much less messy than a traditional scrub and it’s perfect for a pampering DIY spa gift when it is formed into a fun gingerbread mold. Let’s get started!

Supplies to Make a Simple Sugar Scrub Recipe

The brown sugar will help exfoliate the skin while the shea butter will soften and moisturize. Let’s start because you’re just moments away from the sweet aroma of gingerbread.

  • silicone gingerbread man mold
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup shea butter soap base (4 cubes)
  • 1/4 cup sweet almond oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla soap scent (or vanilla extract)
  • 5-6 drops vitamin E oil

How to Make a Gingerbread Body Scrub

If you have a playlist on YouTube to which you’d like to add this project, here is our gingerbread sugar scrub cubes video tutorial.

  1. Add the brown sugar and all of the spices to a large mixing bowl and whisk to combine.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, add 4 cubes of the soap base and microwave on high f0r 30-seconds or until melted. Remove and stir.
  3. Add the almond oil, soap scent (or vanilla extract), and vitamin E oil to the soap base.
  4. Add the melted soap to the brown sugar mix and stir quickly because it will harden. Move it into the gingerbread man mold right away, filling each cavity to the top. Be sure to press the mix down firmly.
  5. Free for one hour and pop the gingerbread sugar scrub out of each mold.

How to Store and Gift This Sugar Scrub Recipe

These gingerbread sugar scrub men are just too cute, right?! You can store them in an airtight container. These hermetic jars are our favorites to store our solid sugar scrub recipes.

To use, bring 1-2 gingerbread sugar scrub cubes into the shower. Under the water, rub the cubes in a circular motion onto wet skin. Rinse thoroughly and follow up with your favorite moisturizer.

Given these exact ingredients and measurements, these cubes will be fresh for about 6 months.
