Tips to Make this Candied Popcorn Recipe

  • Use a large bowl to avoid having to clean up the counter (ask me how I know).
  • Remove all un-popped kernels before mixing anything. And you can absolutely use microwave popcorn in this recipe, just keep it as a kettle corn or lightly buttered style.
  • Don’t go light on the chocolate or the popcorn but this recipe is great with a little less of the mini marshmallows.
  • You can pick any round chocolate candies you’d like, but we chose Whoppers because of the crunch. We have also used mini chocolate chips in this recipe and it was a crowd-pleasing popcorn.
  • Make sure the chocolate isn’t too hot and that the popcorn is still warm. Everything should be in the “warm” category so that the popcorn doesn’t wilt when you pour on the chocolate.
  • If the little ones want to help, give them a long-handled spatula and supervise closely.
