Why These Hocus Pocus Bookmarks Make the Perfect Craft

They would make the perfect activity for a Hocus Pocus-themed party. The kids can make their bookmarks and then take them home as a party favor to use at home.

They are easy enough that most kids can make them with little adult supervision. The little kiddos may need help with the cutting and possibly the gluing.

They are unbelievably inexpensive to make. We had the supplies in our craft bin, so they cost us nothing. If you need to run to the store for the materials, you probably won’t spend $3. If you are looking for felt bookmark ideas, we think this one is the best!

They are quite practical. I hate to dog-ear a book, so using a bookmark is a must-have for me. I love how whimsical these Hocus Pocus felt bookmarks are. They make me smile every time I open my book!

Tips for Making Felt Bookmarks:

  • It is recommended that you not use just any glue when working with felt. If you do not have a hot glue gun, we suggest using tacky glue, either clear or white.
  • If you prefer a more sturdy bookmark, you can glue it to a second piece of cream felt, a piece of craft foam, or card stock
  • If you happen to get your felt Hocus Pocus craft bookmark wet, don’t panic! Because it is made from tightly woven fibers, you can just wipe off the liquid and your felt is as good as new.

Notes for Making Sanderson Sisters Felt Bookmarks

  • Because there are many small points on the hair of the Sanderson Sisters, we suggest using a pair of scissors with a sharp blade tip. This will give the crisp look you want for your bookmarks. Of course, use caution when working with younger children.
  • When you cannot find any dimensional paint, you can substitute fabric paint or a fine-tipped fabric pen to draw your lips and beauty marks.
  • Can’t find any gold glitter glue? No worries! We love using these glitter pens for fine details on the dress stitching.
  • To get a nice sharp edge on your bookmarks, you can use a ruler with a rotary blade and a self-healing mat. I love those crisp clean lines!
