Tips for Making Your Snowman Cookie Recipe
- If you prefer a healthier option to the Twizzlers candy, you can try the Clif Organic Z Fruit Ropes, which are made from real fruit.
- Unlike other versions of this cookie, there is no need to create a mess with royal icing – the candy melts, when done in a thin layer, are perfect for this look (and taste).
- You do not need a piping bag for the melted snow part of the cookie, either – just spoon it on and spread it around. It’s cute when it falls off the side of the cookie.
- If you aren’t able to find the Ghirardelli white chocolate melting wafers, you can find Wilton’s brand at Hobby Lobby, JoAnn, and Walmart.
- If you prefer a less sweet cookie, feel free to leave out the white chocolate chips from Step 2. This will not change the end result of your recipe.
- If you prefer, you can make your eyes and mouth on your marshmallows from decorative icing or edible pens.

Add the cake mix, eggs, and butter to a bowl and mix.
Fold in the white chocolate chips.
Evenly space balls of dough on the baking sheet.
Bake for 8-10 minutes. Allow cooling completely on a cooling rack before decorating.
Decorate the marshmallows.
Add melted chocolate to the tops of each of the cookies so they look like melted snow. Spoon it on and spread it out. The chocolate dries quickly, so just work with one or two at a time.
Decorate the cookies by placing a marshmallow face in the melted snow, a piece of the Twizzler for the scarf, two pretzel sticks on either side of the marshmallow, and M&M candies for buttons.
Notes for Making Snowman Cookies
- If you prefer to make your Melted Snowman Cookies from scratch or the ready-made cookie mix in a tube rather than a cake mix, either will work just fine.
- To get the perfect amount in your cookie dough balls, use a small ice cream scoop like the one.
- To get the perfect buttery flavor you want for this Christmas cookie idea, don’t substitute shortening, even if it is butter flavored. Nothing beats the real thing.
- Make sure the eggs and butter are at room temperature before using them. This will ensure the right consistency for your cookies.

Melted Snowman Cookies Recipe
Make this yummy and adorable Melted Snowman Cookies Recipe for your next get-together and you will be the hit of the party!
Ingredients
- 15 ounce box vanilla cake mix
- 1/3 cup butter, melted
- 2 eggs, room temperature
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 10 ounce package Ghirardelli white chocolate melting wafers
- 20 pieces regular sized marshmallows
- â…› cup mini chocolate chips
- Orange sprinkles
- 1 pack Twizzlers candy
- 20 pretzel sticks
- Mini M&Ms
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350℉ and line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
- In a large mixing bowl add the vanilla cake mix, melted butter, and eggs. Using an electric hand or stand mixer, beat on low until mixed.
- Fold in the white chocolate chips.
- Drop 1 ½ tablespoon-sized balls onto a baking sheet. Space them a few inches apart to leave room for the cookies to spread.
- Bake at 350℉ for 8-10 minutes or until the tops are set. Allow the cookies to cool completely before decorating.
- Make the snowman heads: Melt 1-2 tablespoons of white chocolate wafers. Use a toothpick or skewer to place small dots for the eyes, nose, and mouth. Quickly add the tiny chocolate chips and orange sprinkles before the white chocolate dries. They are very small so you can use small kitchen tweezers if you have them otherwise carefully use your hands.
- Melt the chocolate melting wafers in the microwave in 30-second bursts or until smooth, stirring after each. Add ½ tablespoon of melted chocolate and cover the tops of each cookie.
- Add the snowman head, pretzel arms, M&M buttons, and Twizzler scarf. Allow the chocolate to set for 10-20 minutes before serving.
