Materials Needed

For this project, I’m using the TOOCAA Nova 20 watt diode laser. That said, any CO2 or diode laser will work for this project, making it a perfect beginner laser project idea.

How to Make This Laser Cut Easter Shelf Sitter

Below are my step by step instructions, but remember: you can watch the video or print out the tutorial (scroll down).

Open the XCS file or drag in the SVG to your laser software. Size to your desired height.

Duplicate the bunny (remember to horizontally flip the duplicate if using a finished / pre-painted material).

Set both pieces to cut and choose material or enter your settings (20 watt diode 100 power, 5 speed worked with ¼ inch Lauan plywood well without any charred edges).

Process the cut, remove pieces, and use the cloth to wipe any soot from edges.

Sand the outward facing pieces, if needed. Wipe down.

Paint the bunny shelf sitter. I like to add a light coat of paint, sand, and then repeat twice.

Note:  you can opt to paint the exposed cut edges or sand after painting. I painted the edges.

Seal, if desired.

Cut a piece of 9 inches of suede cord, wrap around the neck, and tie into a knot.

Add a wired paper flower, if desired, and display or gift this cute bunny shelf sitter decor.
