Materials I Used for These 3 Mini Santa Craft Ideas
Below are the items I used for this fun afternoon of crafting. Check your craft supplies to see if there is anything you can use before heading to the store.
- Dollar Tree Finds: a mini clay pot, a plastic jar ornament, and a wooden star plaque
- Craft Store Item: three winter hat floral pick
- Faux Fur Scraps
- Small Wood Balls or Beads
- Small Holiday Sprigs Scraps
- Hot Glue Gun, Scissors, and Craft Knife
Clay Pot Santa Craft
Remove one of the hats from the pick. Turn the clay pot upside down and glue on the hat.
Add a small piece of faux fur just up to the edge of the hat brim. Glue on a wood bead or ball to the center of the fur under the hat.
Add a small greenery sprig and a berry and this easy and adorable Santa craft project is ready to display or sell at a market.
NOTE: you can make any of these crafts into a Santa ornament DIY by threading baker’s twine through the hats with a darning needle.
Santa Treat Jar (or Gnome Treat Jar)
Pull off a hat from the pick and unscrew the lid of the plastic jar ornament (remove any hanger). Hot glue the hat directly to the top of the jar.
Next, cut a small scrap of faux fur (I used about 1.5 inches wide) and glue it up under the brim of the hat. Note: you can turn down the top like I did to cover the fabric backing.
Add a nose by gluing a wooden bead or ball to the center of the beard under the hat and you’re done. This would make a cute candy Christmas gift kids will love or a fun way to give money.
Easy Star Santa Craft
Remove the twine hanger from the Dollar Tree star plaque. Cut out the inside of the decorative winter hat pick and slide it on to the top of the star.
Cut a small scrap of faux fur (mine was just under 2 inches). Glue it to the front of the star, up on the top prong to be covered by the hat.
Next, glue on the hat to the top prong. Add a nose to the beard with hot glue and this cute star Santa DIY is done and would look so cute next to some mini Christmas trees.
