DIY Felt Fruit Garland
Here at Ruffles and Rain Boots, I came across a large tote full of felt. It sure seems as if I like to COLLECT craft supplies as much as I like to use them (maybe more).
I set to work designing and making this fun summer garland idea with my daughter. It was a great way to spend some time together and make a little decoration for the pool patio.

What You Will Need for This Craft
Below are the supplies we used. Although we used mostly stiff felt, you can use the regular craft felt, as well.
If you would like to turn this into dimensional play fruit for little ones, double cut the backers of each fruit. You can sew or hot glue them together, adding a bit of Poly-Fil stuffing.
- stiff felt in desired colors
- free printable fruit template
- twine or ribbon for hanging
- scissors and a hot glue gun (or needle and thread)

How to Make a Felt Garland
First, print off the free fruit patterns sheet. Cut out all of the fruit and extras with scissors.
Next, trace (using chalk or a pen/pencil) each item onto the corresponding felt. Use scissors to cut out each shape.
Note that the slices are easiest when cut out with each individual shape instead of the entire one. Little hands might have trouble with the whole shape.
Dry fit each of the shapes for any of the slices, trimming them down or shaping as needed.
Use the hot glue gun to assemble each shape, pairing any of the greenery and leaves with your fruit.
Once each shape is dry, lay out the shapes, turn them over, and hot glue the twine to the back. Tie loops on either end of the twine and your summer felt fruit garland is ready to hang!
