July 4th Wreath
Here at Ruffles and Rain Boots, we LOVE decorating for July 4th. Beside Christmas and Halloween, July 4th is easily my favorite holiday. I mean, Valentines is great–but come on…fireworks rock. So, to bring some of that sparkly firework action into my life for a little longer than the 20 minute show, I decided to make this fun July 4th wreath!

Tips to Make This Patriotic Wreath
- Start with a small, mini-wreath form like these. No sense in getting one of those gigantic ones…although it would be no thing to do a bigger wreath form, it’s just going to depend on your stars and their size.
- Pick out a patriotic wreath and some big stars from your local craft store. No need to overthink it–just grab what looks good together.
- Don’t use too much hot glue. I know that sounds ridiculous, but the more hot glue you use on the foam wreaths seems to eat into it. If you’re really concerned about that–or just have bad luck with the hot glue eating your foam, you can always use floral wires.
How Do I Make this July 4th Wreath?
I’m so glad you asked. Below is our written tutorial.
July 4th Wreath
This easy July 4th wreath is such a fun Independence Day craft. I love the stars and the garland makes it so quick to put together.
Materials
- Mini Wreath Form
- Patriotic Stars Hanging
- Patriotic Garland
Tools
- Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors
Instructions
- Remove the stars from your patriotic hanging. Be sure to hang onto the jute bow that is attached to the stars as you’re going to use that to hang your wreath.
- Attach the stars to your foam wreath with your glue gun. I lined up the stars before attaching so that I could be sure where I needed them to go. You can, however, place them wherever suits you best.
- Once the stars are firmly attached to your wreath, it's now time to add your patriotic garland for a little pizzazz. With your glue gun, attach your garland above one of the stars, then start wrapping it around your foam wreath until you get to the opposite end. Glue the final end of the garland to the wreath form with your glue gun.
- Remember that jute bow you saved in the beginning? Cut it to the length that you require, and attach the bow to the wreath form. Preferably in the middle at the top. But if you’d prefer to have the stars at the side, you can attach it to one of the end stars as well.
