This healthy caramel popcorn recipe is a crowd-pleaser and is a perfect treat to go along with a Harry Potter movie night. It’s quick, easy, and oh-so-tasty!
Something Different Than Butter Beer Popcorn
Every Harry Potter themed birthday or watch party I’ve attended has served butter beer popcorn. It’s like “a thing” in the Wizarding World of Potterheads.
But… I don’t like it a lot. Not at all, actually.
So when my daughter requested Harry Potter popcorn to go along with our Harry Potter family movie night, I whipped up a healthy caramel popcorn instead. And you know what?
It was a huge hit! You can see all of our Harry Potter food and crafts here.

I love putting together family movie night themes because everyone enjoys them so much. That said, I like things like this to be easy-peasy, otherwise I’d never do them.
I know you can relate – you’re just as busy!
So I wanted to share the Harry Potter popcorn boxes I made so that you can do a Harry Potter movie night in an easy-peasy way, too.

Now, let’s get back to this tasty caramel corn.
Ingredients for Healthy Caramel Popcorn
I absolutely love caramel corn but it’s not too healthy. Most recipes call for corn syrup and it’s not the best (and I certainly want to limit giving it to kids). So, I created this version which allowed me to use nature’s sugar.
That’s why I’m pegging this as a healthy(ish) version of caramel popcorn. :)
- 4 cups popped corn (remove any unpopped kernels)*
- 1/3 cup of unsalted butter
- 1/8 cup of honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 – 3/4 teaspoon sea salt (we used Hawaiian)
