Tips For Making Grinch Crinkle Cookies

  • For easy rolling, make sure you refrigerate the cookie dough for the recommended amount of time. If you don’t, the dough will get sticky as it comes to room temperature, making it quite difficult to roll.
  • To avoid lumps of powdered sugar on your cookies when you roll them, sift the powdered sugar before use. This will ensure a nice and smooth crinkle to your cookies.
  • You can use a white or a yellow cake mix.
  • To ensure a true leaf green color, many bakers prefer using 2-3 drops of gel coloring for these Grinch crinkle cookies. Start with 2 drops and mix thoroughly and only add the third if needed.

Notes For Making Grinch Crinkle Cookies

  • A “secret” we discovered when making our crinkle cookies was to roll them in standard granulated sugar before rolling it in the powdered sugar. This method ensures a perfect crinkle every time.
  • Place the rolled cookies 2″ apart to keep them from spreading into each other. This will avoid the task of cutting the cookies apart after they have cooled down.
  • Chocolate Mint Cake Mix Cookies: These yummy cookies are made with half the ingredients and half the time of making a cookie recipe from scratch!
  • Peppermint Sandwich Cookies Recipe: Kids and adults will love these handmade sandwich cookies because sweet buttercream frosting in the middle balances out the “spicy” flavor of the peppermint.
  • Mason Jar Cookie Mix Recipes: Everyone will go crazy for recipes like cranberry white chocolate, macadamia nut, and gingerbread, but there are quite a few here for gift-giving inspiration.
