Tips to Make Santa Ornaments from Cinnamon Sticks
- I found it really hard to find these super-long cinnamon sticks I wanted. To save you a ton of heartache searching for them, click here to get the 12-inch long cinnamon sticks for your Santa.
- If you want your colors (the red and the face color) to be more vibrant, I would recommend adding a coat of primer (white paint) on those areas. The cinnamon really dulls down the color after it dries. I didn’t mind it, but if you’d like brighter red, white base coat.
- No eyelash yarn for the trim? No problem – you can use a white chenille wire or some faux fur. Even some polyfill stuffing would work.

Instructions

- Paint an approximately two-inch area below the red area with the peach paint. Paint the plug the same peach color. Allow this coat of paint to dry completely, adding a second coat if desired.
- Using the pink paint, add two rosy cheeks spots on either side of Santa’s face. Allow this coat of paint to dry completely.
- Hot glue the wooden plug nose to the center of Santa’s face.
- With the black marker, draw on two ovals for eyes on either side and above the nose and two lines above the ovals for eyebrows. Add a highlight dot to each eye with the white pen.
- Hot glue the eyelash yarn trim around the cinnamon stick at the bottom of the red section. Cut three approximately 5-inch lengths of yarn and glue them under the nose to be the mustache and beard.
- Cut the red chenille stem in half. Roll the stem into a swirl shape, leaving about a one-inch section straight. Hot glue the straight section into the top of the cinnamon stick and hang from the tree!
