Use This Pikachu Pattern for a Fun Beginner Sewing Pokemon Craft
I’m not a spectacular seamstress, I’d still put myself in the beginner category. But this Pikachu pattern is the perfect beginner sewing Pokemon craft! Seriously simple, this Pikachu doll tutorial will have you detecting with Detective Pikachu in minutes!

Pikachu Pattern
Here at Ruffles and Rain Boots, I might be just a little obsessed with Pokemon craft ideas. If my little trainers aren’t running around doing mock battles with their Pokemon puppets, they’re asking me to make another batch of Pokeball cupcakes. It’s a regular gym up in here. LOL!
The latest request from my littlest trainer was to make a Pikachu doll for her to sleep with at night. Now, I’m not big into the sewing scene, so I knew I had to come up with a simple Pikachu pattern that I could follow.
And, I’ll be honest, with this Pikachu doll tutorial, I kind of impressed myself. Let’s get started.

Tips to Make Pikachu Craft Idea
- Print your Pikachu pattern here to start things off right!
- Be sure to use sharp scissors to cut your felt. If your scissors aren’t cutting nicely, not only will it be tough, but the edges won’t be as clean. To sharpen your scissors, just cut folded aluminum foil a few times.
- Absolutely make more than one of these Pikachu felt dolls. Pikachus are always more fun in packs.

How Do I Use This Pikachu Pattern?

Materials
- Felt fabric in yellow, red and black
- Needle and black and white thread
- Small amount of stuffing or leftover fabric
- Free printable pattern
Tools
- Marker pen
- Scissors
Instructions
- Trace the patterns on the template onto the yellow, black and red felt fabric, as would correspond to the colors of Pikachu.
- Cut out the felt, as traced, using scissors. The template includes: 2 sides of the body, 2 sides for the tail, 2 circles for cheeks, 2 circles for eyes, 2 ears with 2 tips of Pikachu's ears, and 2 hands.
- Take any one of the body sides and stitch the eyes, nose and mouth onto it with black thread.
- Using the white thread, add two little "sparkles" of 1-2 stitches in the center or off-center of each eye, as shown.
- With the black thread, stitch the 2 tailpieces together along the sides.
- Stitch the tip pieces of the ears onto each ear piece. Sew the 2 red circles onto each of the cheeks. Stitch the 2 hands onto the same side of the body you stitched the face onto, somewhat below the head area.
- Take the other (plain body) piece and place it on the table, flat. Set the tail and the ears on the body by slightly overlapping them with the body edges by at least 1/4-inch. Now set the face-side piece over the plain one.

- Sew the two sides of the body together along the edges with the black thread. While stitching the sides, be sure to sew both the tail and the ears as part of the seam as well.
- Pause stitching when you have a small, 1/2-inch sized opening between the beginning and "end" stitches along the edge.
- Stuff the Pikachu with stuffing or leftover fabric, just enough stuffing to give the plush a bit of a fluffy look. Do not over stuff.
- Once Pikachu is stuffed, complete the stitching around the edge to secure the stuffing. Tie 2 (or more) knots and randomly insert the needle into the plush and drawing it out from the backside of the plush.
- Cut off extra thread.
