One of our most popular posts was the second Ikea hack I ever did – the Best Ikea Latt Table Hack for Toddlers.
We have 3 criteria for play furniture in this house while Elise is this age (26 months): cheap, cheap, and not plastic. We fell in love with the versatile Ikea Latt table and made this simple dollhouse stand for our daughter. We needed storage space for all the dollhouse accessories!

The Best Dollhouse for Toddlers
If you’re looking for a dollhouse for your toddler or small child, I cannot say enough about the Hape All Season Dollhouse. It’s been played with since the day our daughter turned 2-years-old (she’s now 6). Boys and girls who come over for playdates just love this dollhouse!
I’m not paid by them or anything – I’m just really, really happy with this dollhouse, Y’all. Look when we got it and she’s STILL playing with it!
Here are a few reasons why we love it:
- It is wood.
- It is simple, yet adaptable (notice the Hello Kitty “wallpaper” we added.
- It isn’t all pink. So many things are these days and we want to offer something else.
- Each room is accessible – no beams or doorways in the way. It’s open and bright (especially when you remove the roof) and even the stairs move so that kids can design their house as they want it.
- You can change up the flooring with contact paper.
- You can have a dollhouse stand for it in less than 20-minutes…
Ikea Latt Dollhouse Stand
After finally making the decision and getting it for our daughter’s present in 2013, we wanted to make sure it was set to grow with her. We wanted a dollhouse stand to raise it up.
This Ikea Latt dollhouse stand elevates the table to accommodate a standing kid so they don’t always have to be on their knees. The space under the table is used for storage for all of the extras (room furniture, cards, rugs, pets, etc.).
How to Make an Amazingly Simple Dollhouse Stand
Step 1. Cut off the legs to the height of your child’s most comfortable standing position. You could also measure your storage solution which will go under the dollhouse stand (we did).
Step 2. There is no step 2. You can stain it like I did with our Toddler Ikea Latt Table Hack, but if you’re getting the Hape dollhouse, it looks great left as-is.
You can consider adding a piece of felt to the front of the dollhouse table stand. We added it so the family could have a grassy front yard.
