Susan – Lettering is SO fun! I do it every day at 12:30, either digitally or with a pen and paper.
Learning the different styles for lettering (calligraphy, faux-ligraphy, bubble, etc.) can be done using practice sheets. Download all of them that you can and practice the basic strokes for each style. This means the rounds, ascending loops, descending loops, etc. all are practiced for each style.
That way you build up muscle memory. :)
