They are customizable. We made our sugar scrub cubes in candy corn colors. If you want to make some for another holiday, you can change up the colors to match the season. For instance, you can make red, green, and white for Christmas.

They are more affordable than store-bought…if you can find them at the big box stores. Unless you are visiting a boutique that specializes in bath and beauty products, you may not be able to find anything similar.

They are so easy to make. Unlike making DIY soaps or larger sugar scrub cubes, these can be ready for use in less than two hours. That is quick compared to some molds that you may need 24-48 hours for the product to completely dry.

Tips for Making Sugar Scrub Cubes

  • We strongly suggest using a silicone mold for this recipe. You can easily pop the cubes out instead of a plastic or metal mold where they are more difficult to dislodge.
  • If you plan to use a larger silicone mold, you will need to allow additional time for the cubes to dry.
  • Store these DIY sugar scrub cubes in an airtight container, away from water, and in a dark cool place until ready to use.
  • We use a fragrance oil that has a beautiful candy corn smell for this Halloween craft idea. You don’t need a lot to have your sugar scrub cubes smell absolutely divine.
  • To use the cubes, get them wet, rub them on your skin, or break them apart in your hands, and use them to exfoliate. Your skin will feel and smell heavenly.

Notes for Making Sugar Scrub Cubes

  • We used coconut oil for this Halloween gift idea as we love how soft and moisturized it leaves your skin. You can use a different oil like avocado, olive oil, or sweet almond oil. Any of these oils should not overpower the scent you use for this recipe.
  • We use a skin-safe mica powder to color these candy corn sugar scrub cubes. It will not stain your skin and when used with the polysorbate 80, it will not leave a film in your tub either. We do not recommend you use food coloring as it can tint your skin.
  • We used regular white granulated sugar for this recipe. You can substitute brown sugar but it can change the color of your cubes.
