50 States Printable Set – Fun Facts for Each of the States
The 50 States printable game set starts off with a list of each of the capitals for the states. We had quite a bit of fun having the kids quiz the parents.
The list also includes each state’s nickname and the date they entered the Union.
Next, the kids will read a short passage about the United States of America titled, “A Nation of Citizens.” It’s a brief examination of the structure of government, leadership, and strength of the citizenry.
The clues for the crossword puzzle appear within the content (and other places in the pack).
US State Map – 50 State Map (2 pages)
This is a wonderful map set because it has both the names on the states as well as a blank map. Have the kids fill in what they remember or cut it up into a US state map puzzle.
How to Make a DIY US State Map Puzzle
- get a blank puzzle form
- print off the 50 state map onto card stock paper (use white)
- glue the map to the puzzle form with ModPodge and let dry
- seal the top of the US states puzzle with ModPodge to protect it
Crossword and Word Search
My daughter is obsessed with crossword puzzles and this one is sure to please! The answers are based on the reading comprehension section.
Word Search puzzles are so good for kids – they have to remember the word for which they’re hunting while sifting through all the available letters. The younger primary kids might need a grown up’s help, but the words aren’t difficult.
