It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
The Peanuts prepare for Halloween in this classic Halloween film It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t look forward to watching every year. It’s one of the best-known classic non-scary Halloween movies for kids.
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Bored with the same old scary routine, Jack Skellington, longs to spread the joy of Christmas. But his merry mission puts Santa in jeopardy and creates a nightmare for boys and girls everywhere! I have always been a huge fan of Disney and Tim Burton, and looked forward to seeing this movie whenever I got the chance to watch it.
Hocus Pocus
Hocus Pocus is a Halloween classic! The movie tells the story of three witches who return from 17th century Salem after accidentally being conjured up by some pranksters. It’s hilarious and adults love it because of the great cast.
Halloweentown
This series is by far one of my favorites. If you haven’t seen them yet, you need to! In a place called Halloweentown, good and evil are very different than what meets the eye. This series is definitely one of the best non-scary Halloween movies for kids.
Beetlejuice
What’s a couple of stay-at-home ghosts to do when their home is taken over by a bunch of yuppies? Call Beetlejuice! This is one of my favorite movies of ALL TIME. This is the first year we get to share it with my daughter, and I am beyond excited!
Casper
This movie tells the story of a friendly ghost named Casper who is just looking for a friend. This was a favorite of mine growing up, and I highly recommend it.
The Addams Family
The Addams are far from your average family. If you loved the series, you’ll love the movie. The Addams are at it again as they try to throw a celebration to wake the dead – my daughter squealed with laughter at this one.
Corpse Bride
Based on a Russian folktale, Corpse Bride tells the story of a young man who accidentally weds a corpse! This is hands down a classic and is perfect to watch while carving pumpkins. That’s exactly what we did last year!
Monster House
What if a house could come to life? Monster House is the perfect Halloween movie for parents looking for a scary movie for kids to watch!
Frankenweenie
What if you had the opportunity to bring your beloved dog back to life?! Frankenweenie tells the story of a boy who tries to bring his dog back to life using the power of science. This movie will pull at your heartstrings, but it is still a classic!
