This Pumpkin Spice Gnome is the Most Fall Gnome Ever!

Instructions

1. Start by making your gnome's nose by combining the white and light brown polymer clay until the color is consistent throughout.
2. Form a neat ball with the clay and set aside.
3. Roll the white clay for the coffee cup into a short cylinder.
4. Make one end of the cylinder more narrow than the other and flatten both ends.
5. Using your finger, make a well in the wider end.
6. Roll the cylinder on the edge of your table to create a cup lip.
7. Form a small disc that will fill the well in the wider end of the cup and place it there.
8. Make tiny balls of the whipping cream clay and place them on top of the coffee. Set the coffee cup aside.
9. Break the black clay for the mittens into two equal sized pieces.
10. Flatten and form each of those portions into mitten-shapes, then curve them inward with the thumbs on top. Set aside.
11. Make the pumpkins by breaking the orange polymer clay into 6-8 equal-sized pieces.
12. Roll each orange clay portion into neat balls.
13. Flatten the top and bottom of each ball.
14. With your fingernail or the back of a butterknife, push lines into the sides of the balls, making pumpkin shapes. Set aside.
15. Break the green polymer clay into 12-16 equal-sized portions.
16. Roll 1/2 of the portions of green clay into skinny snakes and twist them into loose spirals.
17. Flatten the other 1/2 portions of the green clay and make them wiggly looking like leaves.
18. Attach one loose spiral vine and one leaf to the top of each pumpkin.
19. Bake the pumpkins, mittens, coffee cup and nose per the instructions on your clay package instructions.
20. Allow these pieces to cool completely before handling. Set aside.
21. Wrap the yarn around your arm, hand to elbow, about 20-30 times.
22. Holding the yarn in your hand, slide the yarn off your elbow and cut the yarn in half at the elbow point.
23. Tie an extra piece of yarn around the wad of yarn in your hand.
24. Brush out the yarn to make it as fluffy as possible. Set aside.
25. Cut the orange and black buffalo check fabric into a 12-18-inch tall triangle with a base about 8-inches wide.
26. Fold the triangle in half and hot glue the sides together along the edge.
27. Turn the hat right-side-out.
28. Place a handful of polyfil into the bottom of the hat. Set aside.
29. Make the gnome body by cutting out the pieces of the pattern from the brown craft felt.
30. Hot glue the oblong shape into a cone.
31. Cut the bottom in 6-8 locations to create flaps.
32. Hot glue the flaps onto the circle of felt, using ample hot glue so that no filling escapes when it's time.
33. Allow hot glue to dry completely, then turn the gnome body right-side-out.
34. Fill the gnome body with rice.
35. Add a little portion of polyfill in the top to keep the rice from spilling.
36. Hot glue the beard onto the top of the gnome body.
37. Trim the beard to be the length desired. Be sure to cut it in a choppy manner so that it's not straight and weird, but more natural and organic looking.
38. Bundle together 10 pieces of orange yarn and brush them.
39. Tie these orange yarn pieces together in the center and hot glue that to the top of the beard as a mustache.
40. Glue the nose on top of the mustache.
41. Place the gnome's hat on his head, glueing it to the back and sides.
42. Wrinkle the hat over the nose and hot glue it in place.
43. Roll each of the smaller two smaller rectangles of brown craft felt into tubes.
44. Hot glue the arms on each side of the gnome's body.
45. Cut the floral wire in half and fold each of those in half.
46. Place a floral wire inside each of the tubes of brown craft felt and hot glue in place.
47. Glue the mittens on the ends of the arms.
48. Glue the coffee cup into one hand.
49. Affix the pumpkins in the beard.
50. Attach the pom pom to the end of the hat.
