Tips to Make this Pokemon Craft

  • First, let the kids do all the heavy lifting on this one. I made a couple to work out how to make them and then take pictures, but this is a Pokemon craft for kids. Let them do it and they’ll love you for it.
  • Pick as many shades of paper you have. There are so many Pokemon in so many colors so matching what we’ve done isn’t a priority.
  • Don’t let these Pokemon bookmarks go into just any book. My favorite series (for early readers) are these PokĂ©mon chapter books(for early readers) are these PokĂ©mon chapter books. If you have an older child, these are the PokĂ©mon books we are really enjoying now.

Tools

  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue
  • Sharpie

Instructions

  1. Select colored craft papers and cardstock paper for the Pikachu bookmark. Trace the Pikachu patterns on the selected craft paper from the given template. Trace the bookmark base on the cardstock paper. Now cut out the traced pattern with scissors.
  2. Use a black sharpie to trace the black part of Pikachu’s ears’ topside.
  3. Attach the ear cut-outs on the top backside of the head cut out. Attach the eye cut-outs on their appropriate places. Use a black sharpie to draw the other features of Pikachu and use a red sharpie to draw the 2 circles on both cheeks.
  4. Take the semi-circular part and the bookmark base cut out. Attach the semi-circular paper on the bookmark base, keeping the curved side of the semi-circular part facing outwards and also make sure to keep 2 cm extra on that side. Do not apply glue along the straight side for now. pikachu bookmark hug style on a book on a white background
  5. Grab the 2 hand cut-outs of Pikachu and insert them under the semi-circular paper’s straight side. After placing both hand cut-outs under the semi-circular paper, apply glue and attach it with the bookmark base.
  6. Now attach the head (of Pikachu) on the bookmark base, by overlapping 1 cm of the semi-circular paper’s curved side.
  7. The bookmark making process is the same for making the rest of the characters. Select appropriate colored craft papers for each character and craft along! photo collage of how to make pokemon bookmarks in hug style
