It’s not every day that we get to celebrate a birthday around here. But when we do, we go all-out with these fun Pikachu pancakes to start an awesome Pokémon birthday party off right!

Here at Ruffles and Rain Boots, we hate to wait for our Pokémon birthday party to roll around just so we can make these Pikachu pancakes. So… we make them whenever we have a few extra minutes.
Since we’ve perfected our Pokémon Pikachu pancakes, I have to tell you, the kid is going to blow is pokéball when he sees this! Let’s get started.

Tips to Make this Pokémon Birthday or Pokémon Movie Night Treat
- Cut the bacon in half before you cook it and when cooking, keep the pieces flat.
- When you make the lips with the icing, don’t pull up at the end, kind of dip down onto the pancake to break the string of icing so you don’t drag it across the pancake.
How Do I Make these Pikachu Pancakes?
I’m so glad you asked. Below is our written tutorial.
Pikachu Pancakes
These fun Pikachu pancakes are perfect for your Pokemon fan!
Ingredients
- For pancakes:
- 2 cups flour
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon baking powder 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 ¾ cups milk
- ¼ cup (½ stick) butter, melted but cooled slightly
- For Pikachu:
- Blueberries (2 for each Pikachu)
- Cooked bacon (2 slices for each Pikachu), cut in half
- Strawberries (2 slices for each Pikachu)
- Black gel icing
Instructions
- Combine the dry ingredients for the pancakes in a medium bowl (flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder).
- In a separate bowl, combine eggs, milk, and vanilla. Then, slowly add the butter while you mix.
- Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth. Allow the batter to rest for 5 minutes.
- Heat a griddle to 300 degrees. To keep the pancakes from sticking, spritz the griddle with cooking oil or butter.
- To cook the pancakes, pour about 1 cup of batter on the griddle and allow it to cook until the edges are "dry" and bubbles begin to pop on the surface. Flip the pancake and allow it to cook an additional 2-3 minutes or until the pancake is cooked all the way through.
- To decorate Pikachu, start by putting the pancake on a large plate. Cut bacon in half and place two pieces together on each side of the top of the pancake as the pointed ears. The strawberry slices represent Pikachu’s cheeks. Above the cheeks, place the blueberries to be eyes.
- Using a toothpick with the gel icing, make a single dot just below the eyes and in the middle as Pikachu’s nose. Create a crooked smile by drawing a line of the icing gel between the cheeks.
