Tips to Make This Gnome Kids Craft
- Get the free printable template here so you can make this cute little gnome kids craft super quick.
- Don’t use an overly-stiff paper for the hat. The kiddo has to roll the hat tightly and that’s hard for little hands sometimes. So, pick a paper that this can be easily done with.
- We whipped-up our little gnome just as an “I love you” for her dad. But you do not have to stop there. Your kiddo can make this little paper gnome craft for any holiday or event. The kiddo will love having a “signature” craft they gift regularly.
- No yarn on hand? That’s ok! You can use string, faux fur, cotton balls or even just draw-on a beard!
How Do I Make this Paper Tube Gnome?

Paper Tube Gnome
The kids are going to love making a million of these easy paper tube gnome craft. So versatile and you can believe they'll be playing with them.
Materials
- Paper Roll (or toilet paper roll)
- Grey Yarn
- Red Paper
- Tan or Pink Paper Scrap
- White Pompom
- Printable Template
Tools
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Glue stick
Instructions
- Cut out the template shape.
- Cut out a thin strip from the top of the paper roll.
- Cut a long strand of yarn that will fit on the roll and glue it at the top of the roll, leaving the ends loose on the bottom of the paper roll. Repeat until the paper roll is covered in yarn.
- Transfer the template shape of the hat onto the red paper and cut it out.
- Roll the red paper cutout into a cone form and glue it together.
- Place a small amount of glue inside the hat and place it on the top of the yarn-covered roll.
- Transfer the template for the heart on a scrap piece of the paper roll and cut it out. That will be the nose of your gnome so glue it to the center of your gnome, just below the hat.
- Glue the pom pom on the tip of the gnome's hat and enjoy!
