Elise had to endure a pre-sand table snack. Doesn’t it look like it was just torture? This kid would hunt you down a unicorn for a white corn tortilla!
We put only a small amount of sand in the table because we weren’t sure how she would like it, but we overloaded the thing with toys – ok, I overloaded it with toys. Beach toys are everywhere right now and so inexpensive, so I might have gone a little overboard.
I hid some small dinosaurs in the sand and we had such fun unearthing them. Danger was very dainty at first, attempting to pick up individual grains of sand if they fell out of the table, and carefully examining the dinosaurs for any grains she hadn’t brushed off.
Soon however, she began picking sand up by the handfuls, gaining great enjoyment from squeezing it through her little fingers.
Dad even joined in on the fun!
The sun seems to be hanging around this week so I’m sure more sand play will be enjoyed by all. This mommy might just dump some sand over her toes, pour some iced tea, and pretend she is on vacation!
