A Perfect Picnic in the Park

Today was a nice, relaxing day for Danger and Mom.

We had a hard night of teething wakings, so we slept in a bit – all the way to 7:30! After a leisurely breakfast and some books, Danger napped. Yay!

Mommy tried to nap and failed miserably. Not a Yay!

So… When baby girl woke up cranky at 10, it was time to have a snack, get outside and burn off some energy. After tidying up, we laced up and headed out for some exercise. Side note: Elise finally understands that this whole “tidying up” portion of play time is here to stay. She understands, yes, but some days she sure doesn’t like it!

Out and about in the neighborhood, 1.79 miles later, Mommy looked at the clock and realized that Danger must’ve really woken up at 11 and instead of snack, we should have had lunch… Oh. No.

A teething toddler.
A post-nap fussy toddler.
A hungry toddler.

If the situation isn’t immediately addressed, these three combine into a tantrum of epic proportions. Noodle soup and the park became our sanctuary. Here she is – all smiles and a little sleepy – after our chicken noodle soup.

Yesterday was Zoo day, so I’ll leave you with an awesome idea supported by visual evidence: dragons DO exist!
