Danger has hit the next physical phase in her development – she is starting to climb!
We are lucky in that she isn’t trying to climb the furniture, although we’ve fastened a good bit of it down just in case. So far, her interest is limited to climbing on chairs, the couch and play structures. Hopefully we will avoid the fridge climbing phase. Side note: if you’ve never come across a video of toddlers climbing refrigerators, you should Google it. It’s both hilarious and terrifying.
We needed a pair of sandals for little Danger, so we went to the swanky mall in Bellevue. It turns out they have an enclosed play area for kids and it is AWESOME! Each structure in the nautical-themed “Kid’s Cove” is kind of squishy, so it’s friendly to even the youngest toddlers.
At first she was a bit timid, but spending a few minutes watching the other kids climbing put her at ease and she took off running! She needed a bit of help to find the best way up some of the more involved structures, but she had a blast working to get on them.
Unfortunately we could only play about 20 minutes because I needed to stay mindful about her mood that close to nap time, but we have definitely found a new awesome rainy day location to work off energy.
